Overview

The East Asian Symposium on Superconducting Electronics (EASSE) has successfully hosted eleven sessions over the past two decades, rotating among Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, India, and mainland China as hosts. The symposium, held biennially (with a pause in 2021 due to the pandemic), has established itself as a vital platform for academic exchange. Taiwan previously hosted the event in 2003 and 2013, bringing together researchers from around the world to share and discuss their findings. EASSE has played a crucial role in fostering academic collaboration, with many ongoing exchanges and partnerships rooted in the connections made at this symposium.

Since the discovery of high-temperature superconductors in 1986, superconducting technology has demonstrated its potential in practical applications. Superconducting electronics offer distinct advantages, including higher speed, lower noise, reduced power consumption, and a significantly higher upper frequency limit. These attributes make them particularly valuable in communication technology, high-precision and high-frequency electronics, magnetic field sensing, and ultrafast computing. Recent advancements have sparked considerable interest in the development of electronic devices such as SQUIDs, microwave and digital devices, as well as in the production of superconducting wires and the exploration of new methods for synthesizing superconducting materials.

The upcoming symposium will focus on the advancements, innovations, and applications of superconducting devices. Speakers will present the latest developments in superconducting electronics, offering a valuable opportunity for researchers to meet and interact with leading experts in the field.

Special Event for High School Students

In addition to these scholarly presentations, we have organized a special event dedicated to high school students, featuring a popular science lecture on superconductors. This event will be open to high school students, including students from Luodong Senior High School, Yilan Senior High School, Lanyang Girls' High School, and Nanao Indigenous School. Local physicians from Bo'ai Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, and National Yang Ming University Hospital are also invited to participate.
